What can the Avada WordPress theme do?

The WordPress theme “Avada” is one of the best-selling themes out there – we've worked with it plenty of times ourselves too, since it's very user-friendly and makes it easy for clients to maintain their own website. In this blog post, we take a quick look at the Avada theme and its latest features.

Alongside developing custom themes and websites, we also work regularly with so-called “themes”. The advantage of themes is that they already come packed with plenty of functions and elements – especially handy for a website that gets updated often, since editing or creating new pages doesn't require any coding knowledge. On the flip side, all that built-in functionality can sometimes weigh a theme down – which can affect performance too. In the Avada theme, though, you can simply deactivate any elements you're not using.

What can the Avada theme do?

Page builder

The page builder lets you build individual pages step by step, like building blocks – no coding knowledge required.

Front-end editor

Perfect if you're a visual thinker: the front-end editor lets you edit the live version of the website directly. That means anyone on the team can add or adjust content in no time at all.

Built-in templates for common content types

Let's face it, plain text can get a bit dull. That's why the Avada theme comes with pre-configured templates for common content types – headings, checklists, galleries, countdowns, icons, buttons, quotes and more – saving you time whenever you build a new page.

Library feature

Got a page or element you're particularly proud of? The library lets you save whole pages or individual pieces of content and reuse them as templates when creating new content – so you can expand your website in-house in no time.

What's new in the latest Avada version?

The advantage of a theme as widely used as Avada is that it's constantly being developed further. Alongside customer feedback, theme updates also factor in current web trends. Here are the standout features in the new Avada version 7.0:

More individuality for every page

With the new header and footer builder, you can design custom entry points, menus and footers for individual pages on your website – ideal for businesses with different target audiences or product ranges, or for landing pages.

Handy: the new header builder also comes with 17 ready-made templates for a great-looking header.

Mobile first

The Avada theme has been responsive for a long time now. The latest version adds several “mobile first” features to optimise the mobile experience for users. Among other things, you can define a custom design (a font that's easy to read on mobile devices, for instance) or set up custom columns for a clearer layout.

Support for Lottie animations

Animations are certainly among the top five web trends of recent years. Whether you're visualising processes or bringing static graphics to life, animations can be used flexibly across web design. Avada 7.0 now supports integration with animations from the open-source software “Lottie” – a genuine bonus!

Stays top of mind

The new “sticky containers” are ideal for CTAs or highlighting current offers. As a fixed element, they stay locked in place at a set position even while the user scrolls.
